Size guide

Finding the right fit

Little dogs may be small, but even a half inch can make a noticeable difference in how an outfit fits. A few quick measurements before ordering will help you choose a size that looks good, feels comfortable, and lets your dog move naturally.

Measure first. Choose confidently. Let them wear it well.

How to measure

Three measurements that matter most

For the most accurate results, have your dog stand naturally on all four paws and use a soft measuring tape. Keep the tape comfortably snug against the body without pulling it tight. You should be able to slide one finger beneath the tape. If your dog has a thick or fluffy coat, gently smooth the fur down before measuring, so you're measuring their body and not just the fluff.

  1. Neck

Measure around the base of the neck where a collar would naturally rest. Keep the tape flat and comfortably snug, leaving enough room to slide one finger underneath.

  2. Chest (girth)

Measure around the widest part of the chest, usually just behind the front legs. For most clothing this is the most important measurement, so take your time and double check it.

  3. Back length

Measure along the spine from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. This measurement helps determine where the garment will fall along your dog's body.

Always use the size chart shown on the individual product page. Sizing can vary from one style to another, so a Small in one item may not fit exactly like a Small in another. When shopping, measurements matter more than the size label.

Getting the fit just right

Good to know

When measurements fall between sizes

If your dog falls between sizes, consider the garment and how you want it to fit. For relaxed styles, thicker fabrics, or dogs with fuller coats, choosing the larger size will often provide a more comfortable fit. For more fitted pieces, compare your dog's chest, neck, and back measurements carefully with the product specific chart. When in doubt, contact us before ordering.

Why breed and weight aren't enough

Breed and weight can be helpful references, but they shouldn't be your only guide. Two dogs of the same breed and weight can have very different chest widths, body lengths, neck sizes, and proportions. Actual body measurements will almost always give you a better fit.

Why every product has its own size chart

Our collection includes pieces from different makers and suppliers, and sizing standards can vary between them. That's why each product page includes sizing information specifically for that item. Instead of assuming your dog always wears the same size, compare their measurements with the chart each time you shop.

For fluffy or full-coated dogs

Extra fluff needs a little extra room. Smooth the coat gently while measuring, but keep in mind that the garment will still need to sit comfortably over your dog's natural coat. If your dog has especially thick or dense fur and falls close to the upper end of a size range, the larger size may offer a better fit.

Once they're dressed, let them move

A good fit should look polished without getting in the way of being a dog. Once your dog is dressed, make sure they can comfortably walk and run, sit and lie down, turn and stretch, move their legs freely, breathe normally, and use the bathroom without obstruction. The garment should sit securely without pulling tightly across the chest, neck, shoulders, or legs.

Signs the fit may be too tight

Remove the garment and try a larger size if you notice excessive pulling or bunching around the openings, restricted movement, repeated scratching or biting at the clothing, difficulty sitting or walking normally, or any change in your dog's breathing or behavior. Comfort always comes first.

A note on safety and comfort

  • Dog clothing and accessories should never interfere with normal movement, breathing, vision, or bathroom use.
  • Always supervise your dog while they're wearing clothing or accessories that could snag, tighten, become caught, or be chewed.
  • Remove any item immediately if your dog appears uncomfortable or distressed.
  • Decorative accessories and garment details are not toys and should not be chewed or played with.
